Dr. Lee, Der-Tsai, Director of Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Director of TWISC and Project Director of iCAST, signed memorandum for TWISC and iCAST with Acer (宏碁), Information Security Service Digital United (數聯資安), and Trade-Van Information Services Co. (關貿), and officially initiated the alliance and cooperation between the Taiwanese information security academic arena and industry.

Taipei, Taiwan, June 12, 2006 --- Today Dr. Lee, Der-Tsai, Director of Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica and Project Director of iCAST, signed collaboration agreements with Dr. Mark Kamlet, Provost of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), and Dr. Beth Burnside, Vice Chancellor for Research of University and University of California, Berkeley (UCB), at the Agora Garden, Taipei. The purpose of these agreements is to conduct collaborative research and development in the area of Information Security between iCAST and CMU as well as UCB. The ceremony, which was witnessed by Dr. Lin, Ferng-Ching, Minister of State of Executive Yuan, Taiwan, have officially started the 1st year program of this three year project.
