1.    Overview

The 2^nd iCAST conference and the 1^st year final external review meeting will be held on June 4^th and 5^th of 2007 to announce and exhibit the first year project results. It will consist of four major events: conference, display boards, demos, and the review meeting. The 1^st three will be open to public while the external review will be a close door meeting. Their schedules are tentatively set as below:

2.    Display Boards

Their format is defined in http://www.icast.org.tw/info/announcements-information/2007-03-28-icast-project-display-board/. Currently, iCAST PO (Project Office) have collected almost all information, and will work with each project individually to revise before finalize and print those display boards. PO will set them up during the conference period. Later, the main display boards of each project will be saved to display in the 12^th floor of the International Building of NTUST ¡V TWISC/iCAST office area.

3.    Demo

All projects with prototype(s) built should offer demo in the conference, and if needed, should submit their special requirements to PO by 2007/5/11.

4.    Conference

(TAIWAN part) Each project must contribute a 20-30 minute presentation to announce, at least part of, the project results. The presentation can be in different forms including:

1.      Technical Paper,

2.      Application, and

3.      Project Illustration.

  All projects should submit the following to Michael:

1.      Presentation title, type, and estimate time by 2007/4/30

2.      abstract and bio by 2007/5/18

3.      presentation material by 2007/5/25

Note - Please use IEEE two-column format.

(US part) A block of time in Monday and Tuesday are reserved for presentations of CMU and UCB, respectively.

The final program is still under study, and will not be available till May.

5.    Final External Review Meeting

5.1. Written Reports

All parties, CMU, UCB, and four Taiwanese groups, should submit their final written reports to the iCAST PO by May 18, 2007. The iCAST PO will assemble all reports into one and send them to the external review board prior to this meeting on June 5^th, 2007.

These reports must include an executive summary, project/system technical description, and deliverables, as well as optional documentations for software and references if applicable. The CMU & UCB reports should also include self evaluation and contribution explanation parts.

5.2. Oral Presentations

All parties will make an oral presentation in the year-end final external review meeting. They will be divided into two parts: US and Taiwan. The former consists of two US collaboration partners: CMU and UCB, while the latter consists of four project groups: III, ITRI, TWISC, and NDU. Each group will be assigned a presentation and Q&A time according to its size as shown in the following table.

The report should include summaries of technical and logistics progress of the 1^st year as well as the roadmap of the coming years. The group with multiple projects should first present a group summary, then the individual project details.
