According to ITRI members' experiences, I listed some possible residence choices as follows:
1. University Housing (Dorms) WEST WING SUITE
Pros: Located in CMU Campus with very cheap price ($1250/month for one bedroom), full kitchen, in-campus wireless access, cheap laundry.
Cons: Noisy at night caused by students, beds maybe too old to sleep well. 20-minute walk distance to big supermarket (Giant Eagle).
Notice: The suites are not open to public, help from Prof. Chen's assistance to check the price and availability is required.

2. Shadyside Inn: http://www.shadysideinn.com
Pros: Very large, free LAN access, full kitchen, elevator, cheap laundry. Close to grocery stores located on the Walnut Street.
10-minute walk distance to the Giant Eagle.
Cons: 10 minutes walk distance to CMU campus. City buses are available, but sometimes the waiting time is long.
A little expensive, but it is ok if shared by multiple people. (Two bedroom suites: 2336/month)

3. Friendship Suites: http://www.friendshipsuites.com/
Pros: Reasonable prices (One bedroom 1795/month). Very close to the Giant Eagle.
Wireless access but not free. A little expensive laundry. Kitchen available. Very quiet.
Cons: 30 minutes walk distance to CMU campus, but close to the CMU school shuttle stop (in front of Giant Eagle). No elevator.

Personally, I recommend the Shadyside Inn.
