Re:                 Call for inputs to the 2nd phase R&D scope and topics     

1.      Background

(1).     It is time to design and propose the 2^nd three-year phase of iCAST project. In addition to presenting an integrated outputs and outcomes of the 1^st phase, we have to justify the needs of 2^nd phase as well as outline its scope, topics, roadmap, strategy, and format.

(2).     Per DT’s request, the SP committee will coordinate with all PIs, identify and assemble the inputs, and prepare a outline of iCAST 2^nd 3-year planning for DT to present in November資通會報.

2.      Call for Inputs

(1).     Please send your inputs to Michael by 2007/10/21 (Sunday).

(2).     Please list your suggestions with couple-sentence explanation for each item.

(3).     In addition to your professional consideration, please also pay attention to the followings:

                         i.                To easily fit into the iCAST big picture

                       ii.                To meet Taiwan’s current & future demands

                      iii.                To design and develop the technology which is more ready and transferable to industry
