Project 302 (1st year)

Security & Privacy Protection Technologies for RFID Applications

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is one of the Top 10 important technologies in the 21th century. One of its applications is bar-code replacement. However, there are many problems of data security and privacy behind this convenience.
We will collaborate with Professor Doug Tygar, Joe Hellerstein, and John Kubiatowicz at University of California, Berkeley on the topics of data security and privacy issues in RFID systems. We want to strengthen the privacy scheme of RFID system and develop a healthcare system using RFID and sensor networks. Further more, the achievement of this project will benefit the related industries in Taiwan and enhance their research ability.
